Dream Lover Listen to Dream Lover
Left Behind
You were young when we were born
so you left us behind
When we were small, we needed your love and support
yet you left us behind
Growing up we had nothing
still you left us behind
We have an array of issues now
because you left us behind
You have a new family now that
you nurture and care for
that you didn’t leave behind
How different our lives would be
if you hadn’t left us behind

Forever as One
Night and day we pray for peace
so we can be as one
No hatred no killing only love can be seen
that can never be undone
Living together in harmony
No room for discord or an army
Out of respect we worship and work
without fray
Our children play in complete accord
each and every day
Is this utopia
No it is not
It is a world
that we long to
SEE

Shatter
So many things hidden behind this window by the sea
Kept in bondage afraid to break free
Feelings and emotions no one can see
Built up from life’s vicious debris
Finally able to flee
by busting through this window and forgiving myself I do decree

Floating By
Colorful chain of leaves
floating across the road
Ascending reds, golds, oranges,
yellow, browns and greens
floating higher and higher
as they drift on by
Watching them mingle
with the prodigious trees
finally descending
to a field below
Covering the ground below
like a patchwork quilt
keeping the ground warm
on a chilly fall afternoon
